About the Role
York Street Dental is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Dental Assistant to join our well-established practice in the heart of downtown Toronto, just steps from Union Station. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional patient care in a modern, welcoming environment where teamwork, professionalism, and patient comfort are our top priorities.
As an integral member of our clinical team, you will work alongside our dentists to deliver high-quality care while helping create a positive and seamless experience for every patient.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare, clean, and maintain treatment rooms before and after appointments.
- Take and process dental radiographs in accordance with HARP guidelines.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix software.
- Adhere to infection prevention, sterilization, and health and safety protocols.
- Ensure operatories are organized, stocked, and ready for patient care.
- Educate patients on post-operative instructions and oral health care.
- Collaborate with dentists and team members to ensure an efficient and productive workflow.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and contribute to a positive patient experience.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of dental assisting experience.
- Certified Dental Assistant with a current HARP certification.
- Experience with Dentrix is considered a strong asset.
- Thorough understanding of dental procedures, instruments, and sterilization protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Orthodontic or pediatric dental experience is an asset but not required.
