4 days a week in office - Toronto Office
Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP is currently seeking a Legal Assistant to provide exceptional support to established busy legal practices in our Business Law Group in the Toronto office, specifically the Insolvency and Restructuring practice. This position will play a key role in handling administrative items and requires a highly organized and professional individual with excellent client service skills and the ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
You will be focusing on:
- Prepare court documents, book court appointments, examinations and client meetings
- Coordinate with court offices and court staff
- Factums/motions/applications/compendiums/briefs of authorities
- Coordinate business travel arrangements
- Assist in the preparation of presentation materials for various meetings
- Maintain and monitor Outlook calendars and incoming emails
- Organize and maintain correspondence files for key matters as required
- Take a proactive approach to urgent matters by initiating the necessary action, particularly when the lawyers are travelling or away from the office at meetings
- Draft, revise, format and edit correspondence and / or agreements
- Provide back-up coverage in the absence of other assistants
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail including courier requests
- Provide docketing support (Epoch)
- Provide billing support
- Submit expenses (Emburse Enterprise)
What you bring to the role:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a legal assistant in a law firm, specifically in litigation and/or restructuring and insolvency
- Legal Administation and/or Law Clerk Diploma preferred
- Working knowledge of legal procedures, with a sound with a sound understanding of the requirements of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and Court of Appeal for Ontario
- Highly organized, detail-oriented with the ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail with the flexibility to accommodate work demands
- Demonstrates good judgment and utmost professionalism at all times and particularly when working under pressure
- Flexible and adaptable to change coupled with exceptional interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and exercise discretion when necessary
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

The salary bands provided reflect the typical range for this role in the region indicated. We recognize that each candidate brings a unique set of experiences and skills, and final compensation will be thoughtfully determined based on individual qualifications and current market factors. Please note that salary will be discussed and negotiated during interview.

Toronto: $55,000 - $68,000
