Junior Freelance Event Coordinator
Position Overview
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Freelance Event Coordinator to support our team with event execution. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow in the event industry while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.
You will work closely with senior coordinators and the event team to ensure events are executed smoothly, professionally, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Event-Day Support
- Assist with event setup, coordination, and teardown
- Support lead coordinators in managing timelines and logistics
- Help ensure all décor elements are installed according to plan
- Vendor & Team Coordination
- Assist with vendor check-ins and directing deliveries
- Communicate with setup crews and ensure tasks are completed on time
- Support team leads with on-site organization
- Client Support
- Provide assistance to clients during events under the direction of the lead coordinator
- Maintain a professional and approachable presence on-site
- General Coordination Tasks
- Help manage event timelines and keep things running smoothly
- Assist in troubleshooting minor issues as they arise
- Support with any last-minute changes or adjustments
Requirements
- Strong interest in event planning and coordination
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and long shifts
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Reliable transportation (required, as some event locations may not be accessible by public transit)
- Ability to take direction and work as part of a team
Assets (Nice to Have)
- Previous experience in events, hospitality, or customer service
- Experience assisting with weddings or large events
- Familiarity with South Asian / Desi weddings is a strong asset
(e.g., Mehndi, Sangeet, Baraat, Reception)
- Strong attention to detail and interest in décor and event styling
