**THE ROLE**
- Lead a small crew of carpenters and apprentices on residential new builds and renovation projects
- Plan and execute daily work schedules, material staging, and task delegation under site manager direction

- Maintain safe, organized, and efficient job sites; enforce tool and equipment protocols
- Liaise directly with the site manager on progress, deficiencies, and scheduling updates
- Mentor apprentices and junior carpenters, setting standards for quality and workmanship

- Experienced in full renovation scope — demo through completion — including heritage and occupied homes
- Competent with formwork, blocking, backing, and fire-stopping requirements
- Skilled in layout, levelling, squaring, and use of all standard hand and power tools
- Familiar with building codes, site safety requirements, and quality standards for residential construction
**LEADERSHIP & CONDUCT**
- Proven ability to self-manage time, tasks, and priorities without constant supervision
- Strong communicator — clear, direct, and respectful with crew, trades, and management
- Accountable for crew performance, productivity, and conduct on site
- Solutions-oriented with a calm, professional attitude under pressure or tight timelines
- Leads by example — punctual, safety-conscious, and consistently high in quality of work
**REQUIREMENTS**
- Journeyperson Carpenter certificate
- Valid, clean Class 5 driver's licence — no restrictions
- Current Criminal Record Check (CRC) — clear
- Minimum 5 years field experience post-certification
- Demonstrated lead hand or supervisory experience
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Own basic hand tools as standard of the trade
