Core Responsibilities
- Precision Mixology: Crafting complex cocktails using high-quality spirits, fresh juices, house-made syrups, and botanical garnishes.
- Showmanship (Working Flair): Crafting visually impressive cocktails while maintaining service speed.
- Guest Engagement: Acting as the "face" of the bar, providing storytelling about the menu, and tailoring recommendations to guest preferences.
- Quality Control: Ensuring every drink meets the establishment's visual and flavor standards, even while performing maneuvers.
Technical Requirements
Category Skills & Qualifications Experience Typically 2+ years in high-volume or upscale cocktail environments.
Bar Skills Deep knowledge of classic cocktails, infusions, and "cutting-edge" techniques (e.g., smoking, foams, flavor blaster bubbles).
Safety Expert-level bottle handling to ensure guest and staff safety.
- Prep & Infusion: Preparing garnishes, batching house bitters, and ensuring the "mise en place" is perfect.
- Maintenance: Keeping the bar top and work area immaculate, even in the middle of a performance.
- Inventory: Monitoring stock levels of premium spirits and rare ingredients.
- Salesmanship: Using your personality and skills to drive revenue and increase premium upsells.
