Refine by Medcan is recruiting for a part-time Medical Aesthetician to join our growing and innovative Dermatology practice in York Mills. The successful candidate will have experience working with the technologies offered at Refine by Medcan (see list below) and is a polished self-starter with a proven ability to build long-term client relationships through customized treatment plans that utilize all service offerings.
This position is located at Medcan’s York Mills location at 4120 Yonge St . This is a part-time position with a consistent schedule that includes a fixed weekday (Fridays), along with occasional Saturday coverage, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
What You'll Do:
Perform and speak to all medical aesthetic services offered at Refine by Medcan
Conduct Skin Rejuvenation Consultations to recommend cosmetic and aesthetic services, as well as retail products to clients
Support the team in achieving overall monthly performance targets within aesthetics, cosmetics (injectables), and retail skincare
Schedule cosmetic and medical aesthetics appointments while working with dermatologists to determine appropriate treatment plans
Maintain quality and safety standards as per Medcan’s protocols
Accurately document treatments in clients file, as part of the EMR
Educate clients and internal staff on skin care products and treatment options
Respond to telephone and e-mail enquiries from internal and external clients
Update client information on internal database (EMR)
Coordinate with other staff to ensure exceptional delivery of service
What You'll Need:
Must be a licensed Medical Aesthetician
Minimum 3 – 5 years working in a medical facility or medi spa setting
Must have experience working with the variety of treatment options available, which include:
Microdermabrasion
Chemical Peel
Green Peel
IPL
Clear & Brilliant
HydraFacial
Hands-on experience operating laser and energy-based devices in a clinical or medical aesthetic setting
Experience with advanced treatments such as IPL, skin resurfacing, laser toning, or similar modalities
Strong understanding of skin types, contraindications, and laser safety protocols and basic treatments
Knowledge of cosmetic dermatology procedures
Comfortable working independently and confidently performing treatments with medical-grade equipment
Excellent written, verbal and electronic communication skills
Experience in medical dermatology setting with a wide variety of client populations is an asset
Availability to cover at other Medcan sites would be an asset
This is a part-time position with a consistent schedule that includes a fixed weekday (Fridays), along with occasional Saturday coverage, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
This role sits primarily at our York Mills clinic but requires flexibility to commute to our Toronto clinic at 150 York St. for training periods. Training requirements will be discussed in further detail if you are selected for an interview.
Position Pay Range
Pay range based on projected On-Target Earnings for year one of employment.
The compensation range provided in this posting reflects a projected estimate for the first year of employment and includes base salary plus anticipated variable commission earnings. Actual commission will vary based on individual performance, team targets, and business conditions. Over time, commission earnings may grow as the employee gains experience, builds client relationships, and achieves performance milestones. This projection is not a guarantee of future earnings and should be viewed as an illustrative example based on current compensation models.
