Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cook to join our back-of-house team. You will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes to exact chef specifications, setting up stations, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace. The ideal candidate has a deep appreciation for quality ingredients, works well under pressure, and is eager to learn and grow within our culinary program.
Key Responsibilities
* Station Preparation: Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies and prepped ingredients before the start of each service.
* Precision Cooking: Prepare and execute menu items exactly to the recipes and plating standards.
* Execution & Timing: Cook dishes using various techniques (grilling, sautéing, baking, etc.) while ensuring proper timing so that entire orders are served simultaneously.
* Quality Control: Taste and inspect products continuously to ensure consistency and excellence.
* Sanitation & Safety: Maintain a spotless and sanitary workspace. Strictly adhere to all local health department regulations, food safety protocols, and proper temperature controls.
* Inventory Management: Properly label, date, and store all food products. Assist with inventory tracking and minimize food waste through careful prep and portioning.
* Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the expo, servers, and fellow back-of-house staff to ensure a seamless dining experience for our guests.
Qualifications & Skills
* Experience: Minimum of [1-2] years of experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or similar role in a high-volume, full-service restaurant.
* Culinary Knowledge: Strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
* Precision: Excellent knife skills and attention to detail when plating.
* Adaptability: Ability to remain calm, focused, and efficient during peak dining hours.
* Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and a team-first
* Certification: Valid Food Handler’s Certificate.
Physical Requirements
* Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8+ hours).
* Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs safely.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hot, and noisy kitchen environment.
* Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Pay: $20.00 per hour
