Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support ophthalmologists and optometrists in providing exceptional patient care, assist with clinical procedures, and manage administrative tasks within a fast paced ophthalmology practice. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for patient care to contribute to a compassionate medical environment. Prior experience in medical offices along with familiarity with electronic medical records and medical terminology is a asset but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist ophthalmologists during patient examinations and procedures, including visual acuity testing, intraocular pressure measurement, and dilation.
- Prepare patients for eye exams by obtaining medical histories and explaining procedures clearly.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records, ensuring all patient information is up-to-date and confidential.
- Provide excellent patient care by addressing questions, offering instructions, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
- Educate patients on eye health, treatment plans, and follow-up care as directed by the ophthalmologist.
Qualifications
- Strong patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically.
- High sense of responsibility and accuracy to ensure reliable,safe and appropriate care.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Previous experience in a medical office setting and electronic medical records an asset but not required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to ophthalmology or general healthcare or ability to learn quickly.
- Certification or training as an Ophthalmic Technician is preferred but not mandatory; relevant on-the-job training will be provided to qualified candidates.
- Fluency in spoken Russian preferred.
