POSITION TITLE: CONSTRUCTION YARD & SHOP ASSISTANT
REPORTS TO: Shift Supervisor
SALARY: $28 - 35 per hour
SHIFT: 1pm - 9pm, occasional overtime
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Maintain an organized, clean and logical yard and work area
· Clean and Maintain fleet vehicles and equipment
· Be familiar with location(s) of all inventory and equipment
· Store material in correct locations
· Load and unload trucks and equipment
· Prepare and receive shipments and organize materials
· Safely operate a forklift and other machinery to move materials and equipment
· Conduct daily inspections of assigned equipment
· Tag out and report damaged equipment
· Report issues within the yard to the Shop Manager
· Use various hand and power tools (drills, saws, grinder, sanders, etc.)
· Help keep the shop clean, organized and safe
· Work productively as part of the team
·Occasional driving of fleet vehicles for deliveries and pick ups.
· Assist in the shop where needed and other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
· 4 years’ experience in Construction
· Forklift license
· Able to work outdoors for long periods in all weather conditions
· Must be physically fit, able to lift up to 50 pounds
· Strong organizational skills, able to work independently with minimal supervision
· Able to communicate in an effective and respectful manner
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
