Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy machinery, including Palfinger truck monted cranes, truck mouted forklifts, Manitou Telehandlers, and farm equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical background, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in heavy equipment such as cranes, and forklifts.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various types of machinery including Manitou and Palfinger products.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for assembly and repair tasks.
- Read and interpret schematics to understand electrical systems in heavy equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on each piece of equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations while operating heavy machinery during repairs.
Skills
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform heavy lifting as required.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs.
- Experience working with industrial equipment is highly desirable.
- Ability to read schematics for electrical systems and automotive repair tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a strong attention to detail.
