Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs
- Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits effectively
- Provide knowledgeable advice on merchandise, including technology and retail items
- Operate POS systems accurately for transactions, including cash handling and processing payments
- Upsell products and accessories to maximize sales opportunities
- Maintain organized merchandising displays to enhance store appearance
- Manage inventory levels and restock shelves as needed
- Handle customer inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
- Ensure a clean and welcoming store environment at all times
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash register management and reporting
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in hardware stores.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain product features clearly
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customers effectively
- Basic math skills for cash handling and POS transactions
- Excellent organizational skills to manage product displays and inventory
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly demeanor
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques and sales strategies such as upselling
- Familiarity with retail tools including POS systems, cashiering, and phone etiquette
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods
