Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating various types of heavy machinery to support construction, logistics, and material handling projects. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and precision to ensure smooth operations across job sites. Prior experience with forklift operation, freight handling, and commercial driving is highly valued. The Heavy Equipment Operator will play a crucial role in maintaining productivity and adhering to safety standards.
Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, and skid steers, in accordance with safety protocols and project requirements
- Safely handle freight and materials, including loading and unloading using forklifts or other machinery
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal functioning
- Assist with automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed for equipment or vehicle issues
- Support construction or logistical activities by moving materials efficiently across job sites
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks and meet project deadlines
Experience
- Proven experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, or cranes
- Certification or licensing in forklift operation is preferred
- Experience in freight handling and commercial driving is advantageous
- Knowledge of automotive repair or troubleshooting is a plus
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments and adhere to strict safety standards
