Odd Couple is family owned and operated restaurant in the Riversdale neighbourhood in Saskatoon. Odd Couple was born out of the desire to recreate Canadian-Asian favourites in a fun, thoughtful expression of the union between East and West.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team. This role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation, maintaining food safety standards, and managing staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant and kitchen experience, and a passion for hospitality and food industry excellence.
As Chef/Kitchen Manager, your responsibilities will include:
· Leading daily kitchen operations and ensure smooth service execution
· Supervise, train, and support kitchen staff in a positive and professional manner
· Menu engineering, development and feature creation, including dining in menu, takeout, delivery, catering and events
· Maintaining food quality and consistency
· Create Staff schedules and assist with labour cost management
· Food cost and inventory management, cost control
· Ensuring health and safety standards are maintained
· Recruit, hire and train kitchen staff
· Administrative and business duties
· Quality Control and customer satisfaction
· Supporting a positive team culture between FOH and BOH
· Be an active member of the management team and contribute to the overall growth and the success of the business
One of the main goals of your role will be to review our current menu (lunch / supper / late night / catering) to find opportunities to maximize ingredients and labour usage between these menus, and also refine/ redesign our menu so that the catering menu will be more reliant on utilizing the iCombi oven and minimizing interrupting the line for dining in service. We see lots of opportunity to grow in our catering service.
Skills
- Proven supervising experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling
- Excellent team management and leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff
- In-depth knowledge of restaurant management practices and food safety regulations
- Exceptional skills in food service delivery, ensuring customer satisfaction
- Ability to oversee kitchen operations efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with staff and management teams
- Experience in the food industry with a focus on hospitality or restaurant environments is highly desirable

Pay: $52,000.00-$64,000.00 per year
