Job Overview
The Retail Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of store operations, staff leadership, inventory control, and ensuring an exceptional shopping experience for our customers. The successful candidate will be highly organized, customer-focused, and capable of leading a team in a charming retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
People Leadership:
· Manage and supervise a team
· Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard new staff members
· Schedule employees and oversee daily staffing requirements
· Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members
· Foster a positive, productive, and customer-focused work environment
Inventory:
· Manage retail inventory levels to ensure product availability and minimize stock shortages
· Place orders with suppliers and maintain strong vendor relationships
· Oversee stock rotation and ensure product freshness and quality standards are maintained
· Identify and introduce new product lines that align with customer demand and store objectives
Store Operations:
· Ensure the store is clean, organized, well-stocked, and visually appealing at all times
· Maintain high merchandising standards and attractive product displays
· Monitor compliance with health, safety, and food handling regulations
· Address customer concerns and ensure friendly customer service
Reporting & Administration:
· Generate and review sales reports through the store’s POS system
· Process and review time-keeping reports and related administrative tasks
· Analyze sales performance and inventory data to support business decisions
· Assist ownership with operational planning and achieving store goals
Qualifications:
· Previous retail management experience, preferably in specialty food, grocery, or gourmet retail is a strong asset
· Proven experience managing and developing staff
· Strong inventory management and merchandising skills
· Experience with POS systems, sales reporting, and payroll administration
· Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership abilities
· Ability to work 40 hours per week, with the occasional Saturday if requested
· Passion for food and customer service is considered an asset!
