We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Vineyard Lead, North to oversee day-to-day vineyard operations within assigned blocks. This role is responsible for ensuring all activities are executed to established quality, productivity, and safety standards.
The Vineyard Lead provides direct leadership to vineyard crews, implements irrigation and spray programs, maintains accurate operational reporting, and upholds high viticultural standards to support overall vineyard performance and crop quality.
This position is based at our Vernon location at 6674 Bella Vista Rd, Vernon, BC V1H 1B8.

Responsibilities
- Performs all vineyard tasks including pruning, tying, thinning, canopy management to meet quality targets.
- Assists in directing vineyard crews and ensuring that work is completed correctly, safely and on schedule.
- Implements and documents irrigation, fertilizer, and spray programs.
- Operates vineyard equipment and reports required repair work immediately.
- Reports on progress and/or estimated completion of allocated duties to the Vineyard Foreman, North.
- Transports bins to and from the winery during harvest.
- Follows safe operating procedures and ensures vineyard staff comply with OH & S Guidelines.
- Ensures accurate reporting of employee hours in Dayforce.
- Demonstrates and maintains competence in the following areas: Operation of Vineyard Equipment, Pruning, Soil Management, Irrigation, Canopy Management, Disease & Pest Control, Vineyard Establishment, Harvesting, Staff Training and Grape/Vine Identification
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and troubleshoot issues with equipment and irrigation.
- Ability to plan several steps ahead, prioritize daily tasks and supervise projects.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to motivate teams to perform to their maximum level of productivity.
- 2 years experience working in vineyards or related experience in agriculture, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic knowledge of vineyard work.
- Basic knowledge of irrigation systems.
- Basic Health & Safety knowledge (WCB & WHMIS).
- Basic spreadsheet and computer skills.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License required in good standing.
- Endorsement 20 or equivalent is an asset.
- Must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job which include farm labour, lifting up to 50 lbs, operating machinery, etc. and ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Current First Aid Certificate is an asset
- Spanish language is considered an asset.
