Position Details:
Position: Full-Time Security Shift Lead
Pay Rate: $24.00/hour
Overtime: After 84 hours
Schedule: Continental Rotation

Schedule Example: Week 1 – Days: Mon-Tues, Fri-Sat
Week 2 – Days: Sun, Wed-Thu
Week 3 – Nights: Mon-Tues, Fri-Sat
Week 4 – Nights: Sun, Wed-Thu
Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct leadership, guidance and operational support to Security Officers.

Conduct shift briefings and communicate relevant incidents, safety concerns, operational updates and client requests.

Assign officers to designated posts, patrol areas and additional coverage requirements.

Coordinate officer breaks and temporary post relief while maintaining appropriate site coverage.

Coordinate the security response to emergency codes, requests for assistance and other significant incidents.

Attend incidents when Shift Lead oversight or additional security support is required.

Assess situations, establish response priorities and deploy available officers appropriately.

Coordinate security responsibilities associated with helipad activations and ensure properly trained officers are assigned.

Coordinate morgue-related access, escorts and other sensitive duties in accordance with site procedures.

Act as the primary point of contact for immediate security-related concerns during the shift.

Maintain professional working relationships with NL Health Services employees, patients, visitors and external partners.
Prerequisites:
-
Clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check
-
Valid First Aid & CPR Level C (CSA-approved)
-
Tuberculosis (TB) screening
-
Proof of full childhood/primary vaccinations
-
One adult dose of Tdap (age 18+)
-
Tdap booster required every 10 years
-
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
-
English fluency (oral and written)
-
Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or related field preferred

Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification required
-
Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position

Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
