Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for supporting the end-to-end recruitment process. This contract position will play a key role in meeting workforce requirements while maintaining a high standard of candidate experience.This position is based in our Thunder Bay office, with flexibility in scheduling to accommodate personal needs.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for assigned positions, from requisition through to offer acceptance.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce requirements, position specifications, and recruitment timelines.
- Prepare and maintain recruitment metrics, report and workforce data to support management decisions.
- Prepare and post job advertisements through internal and external recruitment platforms.
- Source candidates using job boards, professional networks, referrals, and other recruitment channels.
- Screen resumes and conduct initial candidate interviews.
- Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
- Conduct reference checks and facilitate pre-employment requirements, including medical assessments, background checks, and other employment screening as required.
- Prepare employment offers and coordinate onboarding activities.
- Maintain regular communication with candidates and hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
- Ensure recruitment activities comply with company policies, employment legislation, and diversity and inclusion principles.
- Assist with audits and other HR reporting requirements.
- Provide admin support to the HR team as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in recruitment, preferably within mining, industrial, manufacturing, construction, or heavy industry.
- Experience managing multiple recruitment campaigns simultaneously.
- Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and HR Information Systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Conditions
- Contract position.
- Office-based with regular interaction with operational leaders and hiring managers.
- Occasional travel to mine sites may be required.
- Flexibility to support recruitment campaigns outside of normal business hours when operational requirements dictate.
