SUMMARY:
To manage the operations of the Pharmacy while on duty, including providing consultation to both customers and health care providers, practice to full scope in providing professional services, dispensing medication, and assisting in the maintenance of the dispensary.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pharmacy Practice & Customer Care
- Acknowledge and engage all customers approaching the pharmacy.
- Provide counselling on prescriptions and OTC/behind-the-counter products.
- Practice within all federal/provincial regulatory and legal requirements.
- Ensure full compliance with privacy legislation, including confidentiality and consent.
- Practice to full scope of expanded services within your capabilities.
- Maintain clear identification as a pharmacy professional.
- Ensure accuracy, safety, and appropriateness of all prescriptions dispensed.
- Communicate effectively with other health-care professionals within the circle of care.
- Maintain all required records in accordance with legislation, standards of practice, and store policy
Workflow & Inventory Management
- Control access to the dispensary to protect inventory and patient confidentiality.
- Review and manage workflow queues daily.
- Regularly review and maintain “will call” bins per established SOPs.
- Monitor stock for expired medications and remove as needed.
- Oversee inventory levels and medication orders from wholesalers.
- Ensure proper documentation and control of substances under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, including required reporting.
Operations & Administration
- Keep workstations, counselling areas, and waiting spaces clean and professional.
- Review and act on store communications (in-store web).
- Participate in financial reports and operational discussions as appropriate.
- File incident reports for any medication, customer, staff, or privacy-related events
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensed Pharmacist in good standing with the MB College of Pharmacists (or eligible for licensure).
- Authorization to administer injections and immunizations in MB
- Strong independent thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, delegate, and coach pharmacy team members.
- Demonstrated ability to lead by example, support business growth, and advance enterprise programs.
- Commitment to exceptional customer service and professionalism.
- Superior communication and customer-relations skills.
- Proficiency with computers; knowledge of pharmacy systems is an asset.
- Adherence to all Health & Safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Completion of all mandatory training and participation in continuing education as required.
TOTAL COMPENSATION:
- $55 to $65 CAD per hour

SCHEDULE & STORE HOURS:
- 35 to 40 hours per week
- Store Hours: Monday to Sunday – 8am to 10pm
- Shifts include:
- alternating day and evening shifts: 8am to 3pm & 3pm to 10pm, every other week
- alternating weekends, every other week
