We are currently recruiting for an afternoon shift Etching Operator for flexible printed circuit boards. This is a full-time position of 8 hrs/day Mon-Fri (to start as a 3-month contract at first, with the possibility of being extended) based at our Toronto manufacturing plant (postal code M4B 1Y7, close to Victoria Park and Eglinton intersection):
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Tends etch machine that removes metal and photoresist and etches electronic circuitry panels into metallized substrate according to the Work Intructions in Paradigm MRP.
2. Places panels in etching machine.
3. Sets the developer and the etcher speed according to the thickness of photoresist or copper.
4. Activates etch cycle to etch or remove materials from panel surface, such as photoresist or copper.
5. Inspects panels using microscope to verify that panels are not over-etched or under-etched and that photoresist has been removed.
6. Measures as per Paradigm Work Instructions the specified dimensions of traces, annular rings, pads etc. on panel surface using microscope measuring attachment.
7. Verifies Paradigm Work Order panel counts against actual physical counts before and after processing the panels.
8. Moves the processed Work Order quantity in Paradigm to the next step and sends processed panels to the next department.
9. Completes nonconforming and damaged materials reports as required.
10. Contacts engineering for process changes as required.
11. Verifies traveler counts before and after processing of product.
12. Sends product to next process.
13. Follows all health and safety policies and procedures.
14. Wears personal protective equipment as prescribed.
15. Follows all Company policies and procedures.
16. Attends meetings as required and actively participates.
17. Carries out housekeeping duties in order to maintain a clean work area and department clean.
18. Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of three (3) years in a similar position with solid electronics manufacturing background in flexible PCB manufacturing
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Operates Etching Machine controls set at a standing height for up to 4 hrs at a time.
- Lifts 2-5lbs.
- Works with chemicals
- Works under tight deadlines.
