Are you passionate about helping kids build confidence, creativity, and a love for learning? Sunbeam Learning Co. is looking for caring, energetic educators to support our summer programs through engaging small-group learning experiences, mentorship, and hands-on activities.
This is not traditional tutoring. Our summer programs are designed to help learners grow through meaningful projects, movement, collaboration, and skill-building in a supportive environment where students feel seen, capable, and excited to learn.
What You’ll Do:
- Facilitate engaging small-group learning sessions for students in Kindergarten to Gr 8
- Support project-based summer programs focused on creativity, problem-solving, literacy, math, and executive functioning skills
- Help students build confidence, independence, and positive learning habits
- Adapt activities and support based on students’ strengths, needs, and interests
- Foster a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment for learners and families
- Communicate with Sunbeam families regarding student progress, observations, and wins
- Support occasional workshops, enrichment activities, and community events throughout the summer
What You Bring:
- Experience working with children in educational, recreational, childcare, camp, or mentorship settings
- A warm, engaging, and encouraging personality
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Creativity, flexibility, and the ability to think on your feet
- A genuine passion for helping children grow and succeed
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check (required)
Bonus If You Have:
- Experience with literacy or math intervention
- Knowledge of learning differences, self-regulation, or executive functioning
- Experience leading groups, camps, workshops, or enrichment programs
- Background in education, child and youth work, ECE, psychology, recreation, or related fields

Pay: Starting at $20.00 per hour
Expected Hours: 5–10 per week

- Afternoon and evening availability preferred
- Some daytime summer availability required
