Purchasing Officier
Duties:
- Coordinate and oversee the procurement process for materials, supplies, and equipment
- Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best price and terms for purchases
- Collaborate with internal teams to determine procurement needs and specifications
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and delivery information
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of stock
- Evaluate supplier performance and make recommendations for improvements
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in supply chain management
Skills:
- Strong negotiation skills to obtain favorable pricing and terms
- Proficiency in using purchasing systems and software
- Knowledge of procurement processes, including sourcing and supplier evaluation
- Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Essential Requirements:
- BSC in Logistics or Purchasing, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years experience as a purchaser/purchasing background
- Experience with purchasing software (e.g. Sage)
- Manufacturing experience (optional)
- Analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong negotiation, forecasting, advanced analytical skills and communication skills
- Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices
- Understanding of supply chain procedures
- Good computer skills (MS Office Suite especially with MS Excel and ERP software)
- Fluency in English is required
** Own transportation to work is required (location is not close public transportation).
** Candidate must be within Canada with valid status.
