Job Description:
Enerva Energy Solutions seeks a highly motivated and skilled energy engineer with 2-5 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of energy efficiency measures, renewable energy, and electrification practices. In this role, you will perform virtual assessments of energy management practices, update energy management information systems, and contribute to various energy-saving projects aimed at reducing environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the design and delivery of the energy efficiency and emissions reduction programs and initiatives such as the Retrofit program, Energy Performance program, Strategic Energy Management for Industry program etc. that Enerva manages
- Develop and implement energy management plans to improve energy efficiency
- Monitor energy usage and identify opportunities for improvement
- Design and conduct energy audits to assess current energy consumption patterns
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement energy savings projects
- Analyze data and prepare reports on energy consumption and cost savings.
- Develop energy savings approaches and calculations for different energy using technologies and systems including processes, unit operations and whole facilities
- Contribute to the development of Technical Reference Manual and other formal documents
- Support the development of energy models and new energy modelling techniques and energy management analytics
- Review of activities and applications from programs including facility assessments, capital projects, energy audits, energy modelling, energy management information systems and energy coaching and training. This could include technical and financial due diligence including eligibility, energy and emissions validations, financial and cost-effectiveness analysis.
- Support application development of activities and applications from programs including facility assessments, capital projects, energy audits, energy modelling, energy management information systems and energy coaching and training. This may include supporting energy and incentive calculations, confirming eligibility and providing instructions and support for program participation.
- Conduct virtual and/or in person site visits as required by the programs; this might require travel
- Contribute to the maintenance and exceeding of program-required SLA’s and CSAT targets
- Training and supporting other junior engineers and other team members
- Attend conferences and events to increase awareness and increase program participation
- Develop your own network and contacts to be included within Enerva’s business development and corporate development activities
- Contribute to the Energy Management Centre of Excellence and other strategic projects
- Contribute to research projects on different energy efficiency, energy consuming and emissions reduction technologies, facilities, and industries
- Develop subject matter expertise in sectors, technologies and systems. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in energy management
- Support Enerva business development and operational activities by contributing to documents, proposals, presentations and other materials and events with the required supporting analysis and documentation
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills including experience working with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Work closely with other members of the Enerva team and partners within Enerva’s values and work principles
- Additional tasks as assigned by Enerva and agreed upon by you
Qualifications:
- Mandatory: A degree in Chemical Engineering.
- 2-5 years of experience in energy management, energy efficiency, or a related field.
- Certifications: CEM (Certified Energy Manager), CIEP (Certified Industrial Energy Professional), and CMVP (Certified Measurement and Verification Professional) certifications are preferred.
