Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman/woman Sheet Metal Worker to join our construction and restoration team. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining sheet metal systems across various projects, including commercial, industrial, and residential settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction trades, with proficiency in blueprint reading and schematics, and be capable of working independently or as part of a team to deliver high-quality craftsmanship. Duties
- Fabricate, install, and repair sheet metal components for HVAC systems, ductwork, and architectural features.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure precise installation and fabrication.
- Utilize hand tools such as snips, hammers, drills, and measuring devices to cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal parts.
- Perform caulking and sealing to ensure airtight and weatherproof installations.
- Assist with construction painting, plumbing connections, welding tasks, flooring installation, and tile laying as needed on various projects.
- Conduct restoration work on existing structures by replacing or repairing damaged sheet metal components.
- Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a safe work environment for all team members.
- Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to meet project specifications and deadlines.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Journeyman/woman Sheet Metal Worker or in a similar construction trade role.
- Proficiency in using hand tools specific to sheet metal work as well as general construction tools.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with caulking techniques, welding processes.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions accurately and work independently or within a team setting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Valid certification or license as a journeyman/woman in sheet metal work is preferred but not mandatory depending on experience level.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials and working at heights when required. Pay: $50.00-$55.00 per hour
