Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Coordinator to cover a maternity leave period of 18 months. This role is essential in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll and related financial activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience with payroll systems, accounting software, and human resources platforms, providing seamless support during this temporary assignment. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic team, contributing to efficient payroll operations and maintaining compliance with organizational policies.
Duties
- Perform data entry related to employee hours, wages, deductions, and benefits with high accuracy
- Assist with account reconciliation and bookkeeping tasks to support overall financial integrity
- Support human resources functions related to payroll administration and employee data management
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements concerning payroll processing
- Collaborate with finance and HR teams to resolve discrepancies and improve payroll workflows
- Process Bi-Weekly Payroll and Year End Payroll
- Verify employee time records, attendance, overtime and any pay adjustments
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee information
- Calculate wages, bonuses, deductions and garnishments
- Administer benefits and deductions including taxes, RRSP and insurance.
- Ensure payroll is compliant with federal and provincial regulations
- Generate payroll reports and reconcile payroll accounts
- Respond the employee questions regarding payroll calculations
- Perform various admirative tasks and other duties as required or assigned
- Assist with Onboarding procedures for new hires
- Reconcile payroll discrepances
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Payroll Coordinator or in a similar role within finance or human resources departments
- Strong familiarity with payroll software such as Payworks is an asset.
- Demonstrated skills in data entry, account reconciliation, bookkeeping, and analysis of financial data
- Knowledge of human resources processes related to payroll administration is preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to adapt quickly to new systems and procedures while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment
Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
