Field Service Technician – Telecom

Job Description
We are currently hiring experienced Field Service Technicians to provide telecom installation and service support in Kelowna and Kamloops, BC.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience with residential telecom services, including modem installations, structured cabling, troubleshooting, and communicating with back-office/support teams while completing service calls.
This is an independent field-based position. Candidates must be comfortable working at customer locations and managing assigned service calls efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Install and activate internet modems and related telecom equipment
- Perform structured cabling and basic wiring work
- Troubleshoot internet and connectivity issues
- Complete residential service and installation calls
- Communicate with back-office/support teams by phone when required
- Provide professional customer service
- Complete assigned work orders accurately and on time
- Maintain a clean and professional work environment
- Follow company and customer safety requirements
Requirements
- Must have your own reliable work van
- Previous telecom or field service technician experience
- Experience with modem installation and troubleshooting
- Experience with structured cabling
- Ability to use basic hand tools and telecom testing equipment
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage daily service calls
- Valid driver's licence
- Reliable and punctual
Previous experience in Telecom, Internet, Cable, Fiber, or Residential Installation is strongly preferred.
Compensation
Starting rate: $30.00/hour
The pay rate can increase based on performance, reliability, productivity, and demonstrated experience.
