Commercial Electrician – Fort McMurray, AB
Division 26 Inc. is currently seeking experienced and motivated Commercial Electricians to join our growing team in Fort McMurray, Alberta. We are looking for individuals who take pride in their workmanship, prioritize safety, and thrive in fast-paced commercial and industrial environments.
This position involves installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems on commercial and industrial projects throughout the region. Candidates must be willing to work in field environments and participate in on-call or emergency service work when required.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair commercial and industrial electrical systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and electrical schematics
- Install conduit, cable tray, wiring, lighting systems, panels, and electrical equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform corrective repairs
- Test electrical systems and components to ensure proper functionality and code compliance
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections
- Work collaboratively with project managers, supervisors, apprentices, and other trades
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with applicable electrical codes and company procedures
- Complete required documentation, hazard assessments, and field reports
- Respond to emergency service calls and participate in on-call rotations as required
Qualifications
- Journeyperson Electrician certification preferred
- 4th year Apprentice electricians may also be considered
- Commercial experience required
- Strong understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Experience with troubleshooting and commissioning considered an asset
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Physically capable of working in demanding field conditions

- CSTS 2020 or CSO
- WHMIS
- Fall Protection (asset)
- Elevated Work Platform (asset)
- H2S Alive (asset)
