We take pride in serving authentic African cuisine and delivering exceptional customer service to our guests. As part of our participation in the Taste of Edmonton Festival 2026, we are seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and customer-focused individuals to join our festival team.
This is a temporary event position that offers a fun, fast-paced work environment and the opportunity to be part of one of Edmonton's largest summer festivals.
Job Summary
As a Festival Food Service Associate, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service at the El Afrik Lounge festival booth. Your primary duties will include greeting customers, taking orders, processing payments, serving food, and ensuring a positive customer experience throughout the event.
This position is ideal for energetic individuals who enjoy working with people and thrive in busy environments.
Event Details
- Event: Taste of Edmonton 2026
- Dates: July 15, 2026 – July 26, 2026
- Location: Sir Winston Churchill Square, Edmonton, AB
- Hours: 10–12 hour shifts
- Compensation: $100 - $150 per day
- Staff Benefits: Free meals provided during every shift
Responsibilities
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Process cash, debit, and credit card transactions.
- Serve food and beverages while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Answer questions about menu items and ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the service area.
- Restock supplies and assist with booth setup and breakdown as needed.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Help create a positive and memorable experience for festival attendees.
Requirements
- Customer service experience is an asset.
- Food service experience is an asset.
- Food handler certification is an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work long shifts.
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
