S&R Sawmills has a long history of Custom Cutting in the Lower Mainland. We are a family run business that was established in 1963 and currently have a workforce of over 300 employees on a large strip of the Fraser River. Employee safety is the highest priority with experience, knowledge and hard work being the backbone for many years.
Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, the Lumber Sales and Marketing is responsible for managing and growing sales within key markets, with a focus on Hemlock and Fir products. This role combines account management, market development, and coordination with operations and logistics to ensure customer satisfaction and consistent product flow.

This role is a great fit for someone with 10+ years of sales experience in the lumber industry who knows the market well and has strong relationships in place. There’s room to take on more responsibility over time and grow into a larger leadership role. The focus is on building market presence, growing the customer base, and supporting steady, long-term growth for the company.

Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships in Hemlock and Fir markets.
- Identify new sales opportunities and emerging markets to drive revenue growth.
- Conduct market research and provide insights to improve pricing, product mix, and sales strategy.
- Collaborate with operations to align product availability, quality, and customer expectations.
- Support the development of sales processes, tools, and reporting practices.
- Contribute to building the company’s brand and reputation in domestic and export markets.
- Assist in evaluating new product opportunities and value-added offerings.
- Work closely with logistics and export teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
Responsibilities and Tasks: Operational
- Manage day-to-day sales activities for Hemlock and Fir product lines.
- Build, maintain, and grow a portfolio of key accounts.
- Prepare sales reports, analyze trends, and provide regular updates to leadership.
- Coordinate with production teams to align orders with mill output and specifications.
- Participate in pricing discussions, contract negotiations, and order management.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes related to sales volumes and revenue.
- Conduct customer visits (in-person or virtual) to strengthen relationships and identify opportunities.
- Assist in developing new customer channels and expanding into new regions or segments.

Pay: $110,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
