The Role

- $70,000 – $85,000/year (based on experience)
What You'll Do Carry a caseload of 50–60 active LAO files, handling case conferences, settlement conferences, motions, and related family law proceedings.
What We're Looking For
- Legal Aid Ontario empaneled (required)
- Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- Strong family law background
- Courtroom experience — case conferences, settlement conferences, motions
- Sharp writing and oral advocacy skills
- Full G driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle for court travel

Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Family Lawyer at our Scarborough, ON, office. The Family Lawyer will manage family law cases, provide expert legal advice and representation to clients, draft legal documents, and attend court proceedings and mediation sessions. The role requires maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring the delivery of effective legal services tailored to clients' unique family law needs.
Qualifications
- Proven expertise in Family Law, with experience handling divorce, custody, support, and property division cases
- Strong legal research and analysis skills to apply relevant laws and precedents to cases
- Excellent drafting skills for creating legal agreements, contracts, and court submissions
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to manage client relationships and collaborate with legal teams
- Strong negotiation and mediation skills, with the ability to resolve disputes amicably when possible
- Ontario Bar membership in good standing
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Commitment to client confidentiality, ethics, and professionalism
