Commercial Condominium Cleaner (Independent Contractor)

Pay: $25.00 per hour, invoiced monthly
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. No evenings, no weekends, no on-call.
Expected hours: 40 per week
About the role
Metropolitan Toronto Condominium Corporation No. 1067 — the condominium corporation for Agincourt Commercial Centre — is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented cleaner to maintain the common elements of its two commercial buildings and parking structure.
This is a single site at the corner of Sheppard Avenue East and Kennedy Road: two adjoining buildings — 4002 Sheppard Ave E and 2347 Kennedy Rd — plus a parking structure.
This is a steady, predictable engagement with regular weekday hours. Owners, tenants and their customers pass through these spaces all day, and the standard you set is the standard the property is judged by. We're looking for someone reliable, thorough, and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision. You'll report to the Board of Directors through its designated representative.
What you'll be doing
- Daily cleaning of interior areas at both buildings: lobbies, corridors, stairwells, elevator cabs and tracks, entrance glass and door hardware
- Common washroom cleaning and restocking — toilets, sinks, mirrors, floors, paper and soap supplies — with mid-day checks on high-traffic washrooms
- Floor care: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming; periodic scrubbing and buffing of hard surfaces
- Garbage and recycling collection from common areas, transfer to bins, and keeping refuse rooms and loading areas clean and orderly
- Parking structure upkeep: sweeping stairwells and elevator lobbies, clearing litter and debris from parking levels, keeping entrances and signage clean
- Entrance and exterior tidy-up: sweeping walkways, clearing litter from the grounds, wiping down railings and signage
- Spot cleaning of walls, glass, light fixtures, vents and other surfaces on a rotating schedule
- Keeping janitorial rooms organized and flagging supply needs before they run out
- Reporting maintenance issues you spot on your rounds — leaks, burnt-out lights, damaged fixtures, graffiti, anything that looks off
- Occasional deeper cleaning: carpet cleaning, interior window washing, seasonal entrance and lobby cleaning
- Other cleaning duties as assigned from time to time
What we're looking for
- Prior commercial, office, retail, or condominium cleaning experience preferred
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own daily routine across the property without close supervision
- Reliable and punctual — the property depends on a consistent daily presence
- Physically able to be on your feet for the full shift, lift up to 30 lbs, and handle mops, vacuums, carts and floor equipment
- Familiar with safe handling of cleaning chemicals
- Professional and courteous around unit owners, tenants and visitors
- Able to communicate in English; Mandarin or Cantonese is an asset
- Able to invoice monthly as an independent contractor, and responsible for your own taxes
