Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and physically capable Yard Worker to join our team. This role involves managing the movement and organization of materials, equipment, and supplies within our warehouse and outdoor yard areas. The ideal candidate will have experience with heavy equipment operation, warehouse management systems, and a strong work ethic to support efficient operations and ensure safety standards are maintained.
Duties
- Load and unload materials using heavy equipment such as, forklifts
- Operate heavy machinery safely, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, including verifying shipments and organizing stock
- Conduct inventory counts and maintain accurate records within the warehouse management system
- Perform heavy lifting tasks to move materials or supplies as needed
- Support construction or maintenance activities within the yard or warehouse area
- Ensure the yard is clean, organized, and free of hazards to promote a safe working environment
- Collaborate with team members to fulfill order picking and distribution tasks efficiently
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or related construction role
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems for inventory control and order processing
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Experience in order picking, load & unload operations, and warehouse organization
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to warehouse work and heavy equipment operation
- Construction experience is a plus for supporting yard maintenance projects
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards
