We are seeking a bright, friendly and kind Customer Service Representative / Cashier to join our new pet store team. This role involves engaging with customers, providing product information, and ensuring an exceptional shopping experience. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their inquiries both in person and over the phone.
- Conduct product demonstrations and provide detailed information about features and benefits.
- Handle transactions accurately using POS systems, including cash handling and cashiering duties.
- Maintain merchandising standards and ensure the sales floor is organized and appealing.
- Manage customer complaints professionally, resolving issues efficiently to ensure satisfaction.
- Handle inventory management, including ordering from wholesalers, receiving orders (may include heavy lifting), and maintaining inventory counts.
- Keep the store neat and clean.
- Follow company policies on time management, phone etiquette, and organizational procedures to optimize customer interactions.
Experience and Skills
- Previous experience in a pet store will be prioritized, other acceptable experience including retail sales, customer service, or technical sales will be considered as well.
- Good work ethic and reliability are important traits in the ideal candidate.
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, basic math skills, and merchandising techniques.
- Strong communication skills, including active listening and clear verbal expression.
- Ability to demonstrate products effectively and perform product demos confidently.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
