Role Purpose
The Professional Services Technician III is a senior, client-facing technical role responsible for owning the execution of complex IT projects, including infrastructure builds, security implementations, migrations, and networking work. This role leads project segments with minimal oversight, mentors Tier I and II technicians during delivery, and is trusted to bring clarity and calm to high-pressure, high-stakes engagements.
The Technician III acts as a technical anchor within Professional Services, shaping delivery standards, supporting peers, and ensuring every project lands clean, on time, and on spec, from kickoff through handoff.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Technical Delivery
- Own technical execution for complex client projects, including servers, cloud, firewalls, and networking
- Lead assigned scopes and timelines with minimal hand-holding
- Manage complex server deployments, SaaS deployments, and advanced network/firewall configurations
- Handle new endpoint onboarding and offboarding
- Perform DC operations as assigned and contribute to design/architecture decisions on assigned projects
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Guide and support Tier I and II teammates during project delivery
- Flag risks early and offer practical, workable fixes
Documentation & Process
- Keep documentation clean, clear, and always up to date
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date timesheet
- Create and maintain project-related documents and status reports
- Contribute to internal checklists, playbooks, and team-wide process improvements
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with vCIOs, TAMs, and Project Managers to ensure success from kickoff to handoff
- Understand Professional Services objectives, as well as the role and function of internal team members
Success Metrics
- Percentage of time spent on billable/assigned project work
- Assigned tasks completed on time
- Consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of project documentation
- Positive feedback from Project Managers, TAMs, and Tier I/II teammates on delivery quality and mentorship
Qualifications Required
- 5–8 years of project implementation experience with a 2-year technical diploma
OR
- 3–6 years of experience with a 4-year bachelor’s degree
AND
- 2+ years of senior-level or team lead experience in an MSP or IT project role (or 2–5+ years in Framewerx Professional Services I/II)
- Solid experience with servers, switching, M365, migrations, and firewalls
- Windows Server Administration and Role Administration experience
- Windows Workstation Administration
- Office 365 and Google Workspace management
- Azure management
- Advanced network/firewall administration
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and provide progress reports
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; knows when to escalate to next-level support
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Autotask, IT Glue, Datto RMM, and SentinelOne
- Experience developing technical standards or mentoring others
- A natural drive for finishing strong and leaving the team better than you found it
Personal Requirements
- Class 5 driver’s license
- Reliable vehicle in good repair
- Valid Canadian passport and ability to travel within North America
