Summary
Centerfire is currently seeking a self-motivated, experienced individual to join our workforce as a heavy equipment-focused civil construction Superintendent.
We take significant pride in bringing on crew members with the expertise to supervise crews, prioritize safety, and execute construction projects, in addition to their other practical skills.
Opportunity: Civil Construction Superintendent.
Schedule: 14 days on 7 off. Local incentive or LOA provided, Wage negotiable based on experience.
Job Location: Suncor Base Plant, Fort McMurray. A company vehicle for travel to the site will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Lead and assist supervisors in daily toolbox talks and weekly safety meetings, and attend client project meetings as necessary.
- Review daily supervisor reports.
- Set priorities and monitor performance of supervisors under your direct supervision, review project details and drawings with field supervision and coordinate work activities with clients.
- Monitor and maintain employee shift schedule to ensure adequate workforce to complete projects on time.
- Coordinate heavy equipment and light-duty truck mobilizations and services with equipment managers.
- Monitor equipment utilization and report down equipment
- Must be able to take direction from Site management.
- Adhere to and ensure health and safety compliance and procedures are being held to the highest standard.
- Coordinate with the quality control department to ensure work is being performed to client standards.
Qualifications
- Strong safety culture, with a deep understanding and knowledge of industry standards
- Ability to interpret and understand construction packages, including drawings and construction specs.
- 4 years of experience in a leadership role.
- 10 years of experience in the construction industry.
- Experience in oilfield heavy equipment construction preferred
- Computer skills must be at a sufficient level required for communication through digital platforms such as Teams and scheduling using Excel and editing site reports
- Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license and provide a 5-year driver's abstract that meets insurance requirements.
- Must be able to meet pre-employment Drug & Alcohol testing requirements.
- Ability to complete pre-employment online orientations and certifications.
- Self-motivated, flexible and proactive with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must have or be willing to obtain the following tickets (some exceptions may apply):
- Ground Disturbance Level 2
- Standard First Aid/CPR
- Leadership for safety excellence
