The Position
We are looking for a Service Estimator with AutoCAD drafting skills to support our Service Operations team.
This is a combined technical role involving estimating, quoting and drafting. The successful candidate will work closely with our service technicians, sales team and operations staff to prepare accurate quotations and drawings for commercial glass, aluminum, door and hardware work.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate estimates and quotations for service, repair and small project work.
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, field measurements and technician information.
- Complete material and labour take-offs and determine equipment and access requirements.
- Prepare and revise shop drawings, fabrication drawings and as-built drawings using AutoCAD.
- Produce drawings from architectural plans, sketches, field dimensions and material take-offs.
- Estimate and draft commercial glass, aluminum entrances, doors, hardware and automatic door applications.
- Obtain and review vendor pricing and maintain current product and pricing information.
- Provide technical support to field technicians, sales and Service Operations.
- Coordinate with purchasing and operations to ensure quoted materials and scope are accurate.
- Maintain organized estimating, quotation and drawing records.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in the commercial glass, glazing, aluminum and/or door industry.
- Previous estimating experience with strong technical drafting capabilities.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Excel and Word.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of commercial doors, hardware, glass and aluminum systems.
- Knowledge of automatic door operators (ADO) is an asset.
- Strong understanding of material and labour take-offs.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and drawings in a fast-paced service environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with curtain wall/window systems, structural glazing, sealants, access equipment, rigging/hoisting and related commercial glazing applications is considered an asset.

Please note: This is a technical industry position. Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience in commercial glass, aluminum, doors, hardware, automatic doors or a closely related construction trade.
