In 1997, Side Group Rail was formed to fulfill a need by CN Rail to service Ainsworth Lumber Company in moving their OSB product to markets. Since that time, the company's client list has grown and diversified as have operations -to six separate multi-user facilities moving a multitude of products from rock and sand, grains and fertilizers, to glycols and wind turbines
Our GP Reload location is currently seeking to fill the role of Labourer.
This position will be responsible for the movement of products within the facility, located in the Grande Prairie area.
This full-time position is Monday- Friday 7am to 3:30pm.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to customer inquiries, obtain and process orders.
- Coordinate and direct truck traffic within the yard.
- Load transport trucks using safe working techniques.
- Safely operate rail car mover and/or locomotive(s). Maintain certifications as required.
- Safely operate wheel loader as required.
- Unload and move railcars.
- Receive product from supplier ensuring documentation is complete and accurate.
- Ability to operate commercial scale.
- Inspect product being received for accuracy and quality.
- Ensure accurate records are maintained for all internal and external product.
- Maintain a clean work and safe environment within entire yard.
- Remain compliant with all safety regulations.
- Commitment to safe work practices.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Transload, Control, or shipping and receiving experience preferred.
- Competent computer, data entry and math skills required.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Industrial Railway Operation certification considered an asset.
- Loader/Forklift operation considered an asset.
- Valid Driver’s license.
- First Aid considered an asset
Physical Demands:
- Occasionally Lift / Carry weights to 50 lbs.
- Climbing of Railcars and ladders.
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
