Overview
We are seeking a skilled and responsible Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our team. This role involves safely operating heavy-duty trucks to transport material to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial driving, vehicle maintenance, and cargo handling, with the ability to operate heavy equipment as needed. Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks for local and long-distance freight deliveries
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, mileage, and cargo details
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting to address minor vehicle issues
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation activities
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, office staff, and clients regarding delivery schedules and issues
Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related fields preferred
- Ability to operate forklifts, heavy equipment, and perform basic automotive repairs is a plus
- Knowledge of material handling procedures and safety regulations
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and vehicle maintenance
- Physical ability to load/unload cargo and perform vehicle inspections as required
- Prior experience with automotive repair or troubleshooting is advantageous
- Commitment to safety standards and professional conduct at all times
Pay: $30.00-$38.00 per hour
