Our team of Bakers, Packers, Sales, and Logistics work around the clock to produce and distribute bread and pastries without any chemical preservatives, GMO grain or high gluten elements to the entire lower mainland.
Job Overview
The Merchandiser is responsible for servicing assigned retail accounts along a pre-planned route. This role ensures that company products are properly stocked, rotated, and presented according to brand standards. The Merchandiser serves as an on-the-ground brand ambassador, maintaining strong relationships with store personnel while upholding the highest standards of accountability and professionalism.
Responsibilities
Route Execution
- Follow the pre-prepared route schedule as assigned — deviation requires prior supervisor approval.
- Arrive at each store location on time as specified in the route plan.
- Complete all assigned stops within the scheduled shift.
Store Procedures
- Sign in at the store's designated check-in location upon arrival before beginning any work.
- Follow all store-specific policies and procedures at each location.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with store staff at all times.
- Sign out upon departure when required by store policy.
Merchandising Standards
- Stock and rotate all assigned products strictly following FIFO (First In, First Out) principles — older product must always be moved to the front.
- Ensure shelves are fully stocked, and neatly faced.
- Place products in designated shelf locations and correct any mis-merchandised items.
Photo Documentation & Reporting
- Take a clear BEFORE photo of each section/display prior to stocking.
- Take a clear AFTER photo once stocking and merchandising is complete.
- Post both the before and after photos to the designated Slack channel promptly as proof of work.
- Include any relevant notes in the Slack post.
- Report any out-of-stock situations, damaged product, or store issues to the supervisor via Slack or the approved communication channel.
Qualifications
- Ability to follow a structured route and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to merchandising standards.
- Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license class 5 (when company van is unavailable).
- Smartphone capable of taking photos and using Slack.
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Punctual, dependable, and accountable.
Preferred
- Prior merchandising, retail stocking, or CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) experience.
- Familiarity with FIFO rotation practices.
- Experience using Slack or similar team communication platforms.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Regular driving between store locations is required.
- May include early morning, evening, or weekend shifts depending on route needs.
- Physical demands include standing for extended periods, reaching, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
COMPENSATION & TRANSPORTATION
- Hourly wage: $22.00 per hour.
- Extended Benefits after successfully probationary period for employees working a minimum of 30 hours per week
- When a company van is available and assigned, the employee must use it for the route.
- When a company van is not available, the employee may use their personal vehicle and will be reimbursed for mileage at the current approved rate.
- Mileage must be logged accurately on the provided mileage form and submitted with each pay period.
