Position Overview:
Water’s Edge is currently seeking a F/T Water Resources Engineer to join our Team. Tasks would include supporting ‘Natural Channel Design’ and stream restoration projects, field investigations, analyzing and interpreting geomorphic and hydraulic data, Reporting and working collaboratively other disciplines, staff, agencies and companies. The successful candidate would be expected to maintain an understanding of current approaches, methods and protocols in channel design.
Qualifications:
A successful candidate should have:
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Bachelor's or preferably a Masters Degree in Water Resources/Environmental Engineering or related field.
- Background in surfacewater hydrology and hydraulics with experience in stream restoration, sediment transport, natural channel design and fluvial geomorphology preferred.
- Experience in field surveying (engineering or topographic surveys using total station, GPS and rod & level equipment).
- Experience with environmental consulting and/or water resources engineering practices.
- Experience with proposal and task order development.
- Interest in and understanding of current environmental issues and a shared vision for sustainability.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and co-workers.
- Organized work approach in order to manage the diverse nature of the work required.
- Ability to work independently and promptly grasp new concepts.
- Car and Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence (use of personal vehicle may be required for field work but will be reimbursed for mileage).
- Member of, or eligibility in, PEO or APGO.
A successful candidate will also have the following software experience:
- Microsoft Office
- HEC-RAS inc 2D
- HEC HMS, PCSWMM, SWMHYMO, GAWSER or equivalent
- AutoCAD
- QGIS

Pay: $60,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
