Job Overview
The Building Maintenance Worker is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and upkeep of facilities across five campuses. This role ensures buildings are safe, functional, compliant, and presentable for staff, students, and visitors. The position is hands-on, practical, and responsive, balancing scheduled preventative maintenance with urgent repair needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and reactive maintenance across all campuses, including basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, drywall repair, door hardware, lighting, and minor electrical work (within certification limits).
- Diagnose maintenance issues, determine appropriate fixes, and carry out repairs efficiently.
- Respond to urgent maintenance requests and facilities-related incidents in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate repairs that impact production or customer service areas.
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings, equipment, and systems to identify wear, safety concerns, or failure risks.
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks to extend asset life and reduce emergency repairs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and work order documentation.
- Set up and break down classrooms, offices, studios, and event spaces as required.
- Move furniture, equipment, and materials between campuses.
- Support campus operations during peak periods, events, and program transitions.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and storage areas in a safe and organized manner.
- Travel between campuses as required during the workday.
- Perform other facilities-related duties as assigned.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities, or a related trade environment.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with general repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Preferred (not required)
- Trade certification or technical training (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or similar).
- Experience working in educational, commercial, or multi-site facilities.
- Familiarity with work order systems or maintenance tracking software.

Pay: $43,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
