Our client is a public practice accounting firm is seeking a Senior Accountant with three to five years’ experience to be a member of their team in Kelowna, BC. Over the past few years, the practice has been growing significantly, supporting clients in many industries. As the successful candidate, you are a self-starter that has the proven ability to work effectively within a team. Your communication skills are above average and you strive for operational excellence.
For this position, responsibilities will vary but will include:
· Preparation of compilation and review engagements;
· Preparation of corporate, personal and trust tax returns;
· In few cases, conducting full-cycle bookkeeping; and
· Working closely with the team to assist clients with their accounting and tax planning needs.
As the successful candidate, you are a self-starter that has the proven ability to work effectively with the team.
This is a full-time role, however as a progressive employer, we are happy to consider candidates that require flexibility with hours to start and then work towards full-time.
Requirements
· 3 or more years senior bookkeeping/accounting experience including tax preparation in a public practice environment;
· Accounting diploma and/or a combination of education and experience will be considered;
· Proficiency in accounting and tax software and tools such as Sage, QuickBooks, CaseWare;
· Strong computer literacy including MS Office Suite;
· Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities;
· The ability to handle data with confidentiality and integrity;
· Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively;
· Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical thinking, with a positive disposition;
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment;
· Strong interpersonal and multitasking skills;
In addition to a robust benefits package, the base salary for this position is anticipated to be $65,000 - $80,000 annually and will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
