Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Hardscaper/Retaining Wall Builder to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing retaining walls and assisting with grading and drainage in backyards. Experience with Basalite and Allen block retaining wall systems is a must. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure accurate installation of retaining walls and hardscape features.
- Help prepare sites by excavating, grading, and setting grades using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation.
- Build and install retaining walls using various materials such as concrete blocks, stone, or timber, ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic appeal.
- Perform concrete forming, finishing, and masonry work to create durable structures that meet project specifications.
- Ability to read drawings and set elevations with a laser level is an asset.
- Operate a variety of construction equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members on site management tasks such as inspection, quality control, and ensuring compliance with building codes and safety standards.
Experience
- Proven experience in hardscape construction, masonry, or retaining wall building with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Skilled in blueprint reading, heavy equipment operation, and construction processes
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and fabrication techniques relevant to landscape construction.
- Knowledge of plumbing, civil services, carpentry—including form carpentry—and restoration work is a plus.
- Experience working on construction sites with a solid understanding of safety procedures and inspection requirements.
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency in construction management practices including schematics review and project coordination.
- Certifications or training in related construction area are advantageous.
