Position Overview
The addiction and mental health worker provide case management to clients dealing with addiction, substance use and gambling.
The worker provides support, treatment coordination and navigation support, life skills development, advocacy and other interventions in a harm-reduction framework. Services can vary in duration and intensity and can be provided in-office or in clients’ homes.
The worker will also lead psychoeducation sessions.
As part of their duties, the Mental Health and Addictions Worker may be required to work across different sites based on organizational needs.
PERMANENT FULL-TIME POSITION, Days and occasional evenings and week-ends.

What we are looking for
- College diploma in related mental health and/or the addictions field.
- Certificate in Addiction.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience.
- Good knowledge of addictions and concurrent disorders.
- Good knowledge of various intervention frameworks specific to addiction treatment (ex.: recovery, harm reduction and abstinence).
- Good knowledge in various approaches specific to addiction treatment (ex.: motivational interviewing, CBT, etc.)
- Experience in delivering psychoeducation sessions/groups.
- Knowledgeable and competent in case management.
- Ability to adapt communication style to a wide range of clients and situations.
- Ability to develop a helping relationship and manage the limits of this relationship.
- Possess a working knowledge of both official languages.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license, use of vehicle and insurance.
- Occasional availability to work evenings and weekends.
