Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Tile Setter Helper to join our construction team. This entry-level position provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in tile installation and construction projects. The ideal candidate will assist skilled tradespeople in preparing work sites, handling materials, and supporting the installation of tile and flooring. Duties
- Assist with the preparation of surfaces for tile installation, including cleaning and leveling floors or walls
- Handle and organize hand tools and materials needed for tile setting projects
- Support the installation of tiles on floors, walls, and other surfaces following project specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints and layout plans to ensure accurate placement of tiles
- Mix and apply adhesives, grout, and caulking as required for proper tile adhesion and finishing
- Perform basic carpentry tasks related to framing or subfloor preparation when necessary
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by properly disposing of debris and tools
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards
Requirements
- Prior experience with hand tools, construction, or handyman work is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided
- Basic understanding of flooring installation, tile laying, blueprint reading, and carpentry is a plus
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow instructions accurately
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail and safety protocols
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks in various weather conditions
- Reliable transportation to job sites; valid driver’s license is advantageous but not required
- Willingness to learn new skills and contribute as part of a team
