THE OPPORTUNITY
- Ensure all equipment is properly prepared and maintained for daily operations.
- Rebuild and refurbish machinery as required to maintain optimal performance.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair machinery to minimize downtime.
- Maintain organization by properly storing all tools and equipment at the end of each day.
- Provide line support during mechanical breakdowns to keep production running smoothly.
- Report any food safety concerns immediately to the Quality Assurance team.
- Work safely and in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act, promptly reporting hazards, accidents, incidents, or near misses to the Supervisor.
- Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), rotation schedules, HACCP, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support team and operational goals.
Physical Environment:
- Clean, noisy, and cold (4 degrees Celsius or below)
- Handling different meat products (beef, pork, chicken, turkey)
- Good lightning in most areas.
- Concrete floors may be wet/ slippery at times.
- Use of chemicals (daily use of sanitizer, occasional use of other chemicals.
Machines/Equipment and Computer Use:
- Power Jack
- Chain Fall
- Ross
- HMI’s
- Controls on the smokehouses
- All general equipment and machinery in the plant
THE REQUIREMENTS
- Industrial Millwright certificate of qualifications (433A or 426A)
- 2-3 years of experience working in a manufacturing facility
- Knowledge and experience working with high-speed equipment and electric-pneumatic controls
- Knowledge and experience working with pneumatic and hydraulic components
- Experience in food manufacturing industry preferred
- Read, write, and communicate (English)
- Proficient mathematical and computer skills
- Mechanical aptitude with a good knowledge of standard tools, materials, methods, and trade practices
- Ability to lift 60lbs and work in cold
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Good communication and organization skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively
