Regular hours are 37.5 hours per week. The guaranteed annual salary is $82,000, equivalent to approximately $42.05/hour based on 37.5 hours per week. Additional hours may be required during peak periods in accordance with company policy and applicable employment standards.

Job Duties:
· Devise accounting systems, financial reporting procedures, and audit planning, execution and completion processes for a diverse portfolio of client engagements including private companies and not-for-profits.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned engagements, and lead and manage client compilation, financial review and accounting and audit processes, including end-to-end service (i.e., document collection, audit updates, financial guidance, etc.).
· Prepare audit reports, management letters, financial statements and other client deliverables in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
· Examine financial records and statements ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory standards.
· Analyze and review working papers, financial statements, management reports, corporate tax returns, audit findings, and related deliverables, and provide financial guidance and recommendations on findings.
· Develop, assess and test internal controls for effectiveness, and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce risk.
· Prepare tax returns for clients using business accounting records, ensuring compliance with federal, provincial, and local tax legislation, and filing deadlines.
· Review and supervise the work of junior and intermediate staff, providing technical guidance, quality review, training, and mentoring to improve efficiency, consistency, and accuracy across audit, tax, and accounting engagements.
· Support leadership team, as needed, by resolving technical accounting and audit issues.
Skills Requirements – Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, commerce, finance or related field.
· One (1) year to less than two (2) years of experience in an accounting capacity.
· 1+ years of financial reporting experience.
· 1+ years of experience assessing accuracy and completeness of records/reports.
· Experience with maintaining client records for reporting and/or auditing purposes.
· Experience with tax preparation and filing.
· Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
· Knowledge of Caseware/Caseview, MS Office and Tax Prep software/technology.
· Strong knowledge and/or experience with ASPE, ASPNO, HST (ETA), payroll and corporate tax compliance and assurance standards.
· Familiarity with corporate structures and incorporation documentation.
· CPA PEP enrolment or active progress toward CPA designation is preferred; completion or active progress toward the CFE is considered an asset.
· Other relevant accounting certifications and/or coursework is considered an asset.
