Position Outline:
The successful candidate in this position will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing electrical related items throughout the buildings in the Hamilton portfolio, which includes office/retail spaces, common areas, parking facilities and building support systems.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on commercial electrical systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical distributions systems, lighting, controls, motor, and associated equipment.
- Maintain and service emergency power systems, generator, transfer switches, and UPS systems.
- Respond to tenant service requests and emergency calls in a professional and timely manner.
- Install, modify, and upgrade electrical systems as required.
- Assist with electrical projects, tenant fit-ups, and capital improvement initiatives.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Ensure compliance with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and all
- applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and other building operations staff as required.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hour emergencies and over-time when required for annual power
- shutdowns.
Qualifications:
- Valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification (309A or 442A)
- 5+ years experience in commercial, institutional, or industrial electrical maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Working knowledge of building automation systems, emergency power systems, fire alarm interfaces,
- and HVAC electrical controls is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with building automation and life safety system is considered and asset.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation:
- $70,000 - $75,000 Annual Base Salary
