STEM Communicator – Science Centre Operations
$37,310 - $40,000 per year, full-time permanent, generous benefits package

Science North is currently recruiting a STEM Communicator for Science Centre Operations, where we deliver engaging and immersive science experiences.
The STEM Communicator will work with the STEM Operations Specialist and STEM Specialists in the creative development, delivery and evaluation of Science North’s visitor experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for science, excellent verbal communication and presentation skills, and a commitment to continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Visitor engagement across the science centre(s)
- Deliver individual visitor experiences at Science North and Dynamic Earth including underground tours
- Deliver engaging school programs & special event programming
- Deliver public workshops and programs
- Task and deploy science demonstrators and volunteer teams
- Support public program development
- Assist with inventories and maintenance of equipment, materials & supplies
- Maintain and troubleshoot daily operations and exhibits
- Enforce safety protocols and report any issues to supervisors
- Participate in the weekend rotation - additional compensation provided

- Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills in English and French (non-negotiable)
- Engaging presentation and program delivery skills
- A positive and fun attitude with demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Proven ability to embrace teamwork yet be self-motivated
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- A passion for learning and enthusiasm to take on challenges
- Availability to work weekdays with willingness to work some evenings, weekends and public holidays
Compensation Highlights:
- Full-time permanent opportunity
- Competitive salary starting at $37,310 to $40,000 per year

This role is based at Science North, 100 Ramsey Lake Road Sudbury ON. This opportunity is not suitable for remote work. The successful candidate must be able and available to report to either Dynamic Earth (122 Big Nickel Road) or Snowflake (100 Ramsey Lake Rd) depending on schedule
