Job Overview
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team full time. This position is responsible for supporting members of our quality assurance department to meet our customer’s expectations while complying with Canadian food safety and quality regulations.
The successful candidate must have excellent attention to detail, good time management, the ability to understand and apply technical information and a willingness to learn.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES:
Daily review of inbound QA documentation and product labeling compliance to maintain internal hold and release program
Support new product developments; review of product specification, ingredients, allergens, CoA, labelling for compliance to Canadian regulations and customer expectations, drafting product specification
Assist with new supplier onboarding; review of supplier’s food safety and quality programs, HACCP, audit certifications/reports, risk assessment questioners
Coordinate customer complaints and non-conformities including follow-ups with suppliers and customers and identifying trends by compiling/ evaluating complaint data
Perform internal product evaluations, generate reports, conduct follow ups
Maintain current and accurate supplier annual audit certifications/reports
Support customer portal data entry
Fluent Mandarin communication is preferred
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
· Minimum Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, or related
· Experience Required: 2-5 years in a quality assurance role, regulatory environment or similar
· Working knowledge of HACCP, GFSI and Quality Management Systems and their application in food industry
· Understanding and experience with Fish and Seafood; Batter/Breading systems; Sauces; Processed (frozen, canned) Fruits and Vegetables is an asset
· Working knowledge of Canadian food labeling requirements
· Details oriented with effective problem-solving skills
Able to work effectively as an individual with minimal supervision and as a team member with a positive attitude
· Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities simultaneously to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
· Able to influence and interact effectively with all levels at customer, co-packer, and office locations
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills with good computer skills, with applications such as MS Office, Private label software
· Overseas International Travel may be required. Some local travel may be required. Requires use of personal vehicle. This is an in office position.

Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
