Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our automotive dealership team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of automotive repair processes, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to accurately assess repair costs. This role is vital in providing transparent estimates to customers, supporting sales efforts, and ensuring efficient workflow within the service department. Prior dealership experience and mechanical knowledge are highly valued for this position.
Duties
- Review vehicle repair orders and assess the scope of work needed based on mechanic reports and customer concerns.
- Prepare accurate and detailed repair estimates, including parts, labor, and additional costs.
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain estimates, answer questions, and provide recommendations.
- Assist the sales team by upselling additional services or repairs that benefit the customer while meeting dealership goals.
- Handle cash transactions related to repairs or service deposits with accuracy and professionalism.
- Collaborate with technicians and service advisors to ensure estimates are feasible and align with repair timelines.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, customer interactions, and follow-up activities for future reference.
- Stay updated on current automotive parts pricing, repair procedures, and dealership promotions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in an automotive dealership environment or similar setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in automotive repair processes.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Experience in sales or upselling services to customers is preferred.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
- Dealership experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of automotive parts pricing systems and repair estimation software is a plus.
